MAHA, Wellness Culture, and the State of U.S. Public Health

A Conversation with Emily Oster

We dove deep into the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement, the state of U.S. public health, and how it’s reshaping trust in medical institutions.

Our special guest was economist Emily Oster (@profemilyoster), NYT best-selling author, Brown University professor, and trusted voice in data-driven parenting at her company ParentData. Her recent New York Times piece explored how both public health officials and wellness influencers often oversimplify complex issues like vaccines, raw milk, and fluoride.

Together, Emily and Mosheh discussed some of today’s most pressing public health topics:

  • Vaccines, chronic illness, and shifting trust in institutions

  • Wellness culture and the MAHA movement

  • Parenting in the age of information overload

They also answered audience questions and addressed additional topics raised by participants during the session.
