ABOUT THIS INTERNSHIP
This internship is designed for future newsroom talent who want to build careers in journalism and grow into producer roles at Mo News.We are not looking for someone casually exploring media.
We are looking for someone who lives and breathes the news someone who wakes up curious about the world, reads deeply, understands historical context and cares about getting the story right.
The Mo News newsroom moves quickly and the work we do reaches hundreds of thousands of people every day. We take that responsibility seriously and expect the same from our interns.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
This is not a passive internship. You will contribute real work that may be published.
You will:
Draft Instagram captions and permanent posts under deadline
Cut and edit short-form video clips for Reels (trim, crop, stitch, caption)
Assist in drafting newsletter stories
Monitor breaking news in real time
Fact-check and verify sources
Conduct research for stories, interviews, and workshops
Cross-post content across platforms
Help organize and archive content
Assist with studio setup for podcast guest interviews
You’ll work inside a real newsroom environment where speed, accuracy and editorial judgment all matter.

THE ROLE
We’re hiring an Editorial Producer to join our in-person NYC newsroom.
This is a hands-on role for a journalist who lives and breathes the news. We are looking for someone who follows the news cycle closely, understands the historical context behind today’s headlines and has strong editorial instincts.
The Mo News newsroom moves quickly. Breaking news does not happen on a schedule and the right candidate must be someone who is comfortable stepping up when major stories develop.
We are looking for someone who takes journalism seriously, someone who cares deeply about accuracy, clarity and helping audiences understand what actually matters.
This role begins with a 90-day contract trial, with the expectation that strong performers transition into a full-time position.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Social & Daily Coverage
Draft Instagram captions and permanent posts under deadline
Write with the Mo News tone, format, and editorial standards
Edit short-form video clips for Reels (trim, crop, stitch, caption)
Monitor breaking news and contribute to daily story selection
Pitch story ideas
Participate in decisions about what makes our coverage
Fact-check and verify sources before publication
Initially, content will be reviewed by Mosheh and senior producers before publishing. The goal is for you to quickly master Mo News standards and eventually review and guide work from associate producers and interns.
Newsletter
Write full newsletter sections independently
Draft stories for review and collaborate on tone and structure
Help maintain clarity, accuracy, and consistency across coverage
Podcast Support (As Needed)
Assist in preparing rundowns
Help research topics and book guests
Occasionally support live or recorded productions
Primary focus remains social and newsletter coverage.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR5+ years of newsroom or digital journalism experience (Open to exceptional candidates with 2–4 years)
The strongest candidates will have:
Excellent writing ability and strong editorial instincts
Sharp headline-writing skills
Deep familiarity with the daily news cycle
Strong knowledge of history and current affairs
Experience publishing news to digital or social platforms
The ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy

Comfort working in a fast-moving newsroom environment

THE ROLE
We’re hiring an Audience Growth & Marketing Manager to help us build and execute a disciplined growth strategy. This role is both strategic and hands-on.
You will collaborate with leadership to shape the roadmap and then personally execute the early experiments, campaigns, and systems needed to validate it.
We are not looking for an agency. We are not looking for someone who only delegates. We’re looking for a growth operator who can think and do.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
1. Free Audience Growth
Instagram growth strategy (organic + paid)
Newsletter acquisition strategy
Podcast and YouTube growth experiments
Partnership and collaboration strategy
Paid social testing (Meta required)
Acquisition funnel tracking
You should be comfortable running paid campaigns yourself, especially in early stages when budgets are modest.
2. Premium Conversion
Free → Premium funnel optimization
Landing page testing
Lifecycle email flows
Launch campaigns
Retargeting campaigns
Offer and pricing experiments
Referral and incentive programs
We care deeply about improving conversion efficiency.
3. Growth Infrastructure
Develop a clear growth roadmap
Identify early, high-probability wins
Establish KPIs and reporting dashboards
Run structured tests and iterate
Build systems that can later scale
This role starts hands-on and can grow into team leadership as the function expands.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR3–6+ years in growth marketing, performance marketing, or audience development
Hands-on experience running paid social (Meta required)
Experience setting up and optimizing email campaigns
Strong understanding of acquisition funnels and conversion strategy
Comfortable working with modest budgets and building proof of concept
Analytical, but practical
Able to collaborate closely with founders
You should be comfortable saying: “Here’s the strategy I’d recommend, and here’s how I’ll test it.”
STRUCTURE
Full-time preferred.
We are open to starting part-time (20–30 hrs/week), but:
Mo News must be your primary professional focus.
We are not looking for someone managing a large roster of clients.
There is a path to full-time as the role expands.
Quarterly travel to NYC for planning sessions is required.
