THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Senior Editorial Producer to help lead day-to-day editorial coverage at Mo News. This is not only a hands-on news production role; it’s an editorial leadership role.
You will help manage the flow of our daily coverage, ensure consistency in tone and quality, and make real-time decisions about how stories are framed and prioritized across platforms. You’ll be editing/approving work from other editorial team members, as well as producing coverage yourself.
You should have strong editorial instincts, a deep understanding of the news cycle, and the ability to quickly identify what matters and how to explain it clearly to our audience.
This role helps set the editorial standard for Mo News. You will play a key role in shaping how our audience understands the news each day, and in building a newsroom designed for the future of journalism.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Editorial Leadership
Help manage and direct daily news coverage primarily across Instagram/social and the newsletter, with occasional support for the podcast
Make real-time decisions about story prioritization and framing
Identify the most important angle of a story and ensure coverage is clear, accurate, and complete
Ensure consistency in Mo News tone, structure, and standards
Editing & Oversight
Edit, fact-check, and approve content from other editorial team members
Provide feedback to improve clarity, accuracy, and storytelling
Serve as a key quality control layer before publication
Hands-On Production
You will be expected to produce stories end-to-end:Write Instagram captions and newsletter stories in the Mo News format and tone
Fact-check and verify all information before publishing
Source, clip, and edit + caption video for IG Reels and YouTube
Create visual posts (including basic Canva graphics when needed)
This is a player-coach role; you should be comfortable both guiding others and doing the work yourself.
Coverage Execution
Monitor the news cycle and adjust coverage throughout the day
Identify when a story needs follow-ups, updates, or additional context
Help determine timing and sequencing of stories across platforms
Contribute to newsletter structure and daily editorial planning
Support podcast prep and broader editorial coordination as needed
WHAT WE‘RE LOOKING FOR
Significant newsroom experience (ideally 5–8+ years)
Strong editorial judgment and instincts
Deep familiarity with the daily news cycle
Experience editing and overseeing other writers or producers
Ability to move quickly without sacrificing accuracy

This is a hands-on role for a journalist who lives and breathes the news. We are looking for someone who follows the news cycle closely, understands the historical context behind today’s headlines and has strong editorial instincts.
The Mo News newsroom moves quickly. Breaking news does not happen on a schedule and the right candidate must be someone who is comfortable stepping up when major stories develop.
We are looking for someone who takes journalism seriously, someone who cares deeply about accuracy, clarity and helping audiences understand what actually matters.
This role begins with a 90-day contract trial, with the expectation that strong performers transition into a full-time position.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Social & Daily Coverage
Draft Instagram captions and permanent posts under deadline
Write with the Mo News tone, format, and editorial standards
Edit short-form video clips for Reels (trim, crop, stitch, caption)
Monitor breaking news and contribute to daily story selection
Pitch story ideas
Participate in decisions about what makes our coverage
Fact-check and verify sources before publication
Initially, content will be reviewed by Mosheh and senior producers before publishing. The goal is for you to quickly master Mo News standards and eventually review and guide work from associate producers and interns.

Write full newsletter sections independently
Draft stories for review and collaborate on tone and structure
Help maintain clarity, accuracy, and consistency across coverage
Podcast Support (As Needed)
Assist in preparing rundowns

Primary focus remains social and newsletter coverage.

We are looking for someone who follows the news cycle closely, is curious about the context behind major stories, and is eager to learn how to translate complex news into clear, accessible coverage.
The Mo News newsroom moves quickly. Breaking news does not happen on a schedule, and the right candidate should be comfortable stepping in and learning in real time as stories develop.
You will work closely with senior producers and leadership, contributing to daily coverage while developing your editorial instincts, writing skills, and understanding of how a modern newsroom operates.
This role begins with a 90-day contract trial, with the expectation that strong performers transition into a full-time position and continue to grow within the team.

We’re hiring an Audience Growth & Marketing Manager to help us build and execute a disciplined growth strategy. This role is both strategic and hands-on.
You will collaborate with leadership to shape the roadmap and then personally execute the early experiments, campaigns, and systems needed to validate it.
We are not looking for an agency. We are not looking for someone who only delegates. We’re looking for a growth operator who can think and do.

STRUCTURE
Full-time preferred.
We are open to starting part-time (20–30 hrs/week), but:
Mo News must be your primary professional focus.
We are not looking for someone managing a large roster of clients.
There is a path to full-time as the role expands.
Quarterly travel to NYC for planning sessions is required.
